Corrections policy

We'd rather fix a mistake than defend one.

Last updated August 13, 2026

What counts as a correction

Factual errors: a wrong specification, a mischaracterized feature, a product that no longer matches its description, a claim we can’t support. Opinions aren’t corrections — but if new information changes our verdict, we update the verdict and the page’s updated date.

How fixes happen

  • Minor slips (typos, formatting) are fixed silently.
  • Substantive factual errors are fixed promptly, the page’s updated date changes, and material corrections are noted on the page.
  • If a recommendation itself no longer holds, we revise or unpublish it rather than leave it standing.
